RECOMMENDED TEACHERS & CLASSES
I’ve purchased dozens of authoring, publishing and marketing classes online. These three folks are, in my opinion, the best out there. I’m listing only courses I’ve taken and that I found value in. See what resonates with you, don’t get bogged down in training – review eBook material first. Get something written and released before you explore physical books.
Real Fast Book – A great all-around course for physical books and ebook. One of the first courses I took. This link lets you get on an upcoming webinar to learn more.
This link will let you buy it right away – Best Self Authorship training on the web! Either way this course is $157 and has a 30 day money back guarantee.
Daniel has many different courses that are worth exploring.
Easy Book A Day – This was the class that got me into action, watching Tony Laidig create a new eBook every day for a month. This training is now recorded, but is even more beneficial than when it was live because you can pause and rewind.
Easy Book Illustration – I’ve taken all of Tony’s illustration series. If you are interested in illustrated children’s book, or any illustration based books, I highly recommend these. There are 3 different bundles to choose from.
Easy Book Publisher – Another great all around course from Tony; available at two levels. Focuses on physical books more than eBooks.
Kindle Cover Templates – 20 professional designed cover templates plus lots of great bonuses.
More Free Online Tools
Evernote – I LOVE Evernote. It is an online writing app that syncs all your computers and other devices so you can update notes, articles, books where ever you are. You can create notebooks within notebooks, create tags, search and much more. Fantastic and FREE for basic level.
Dropbox – Another I app I live by. Storage in the cloud gives you access to all your files no matter where you are and lets you share content with others if you choose.
Canva.com – Amazingly simple and free (unless you use their for sale images) graphic design for book covers, blogs, presentations, Facebook covers, flyers and so much more.
Smore.com – Another cool online design tool for making promotional flyers.

BigStockPhoto.com – stock photos and vector art with free trial.

MyPublisher– Another great service I’ve used multiple times that lets you create amazing hardcover photo books. This is who I used for the two samples I brought to class. Both services have great deals for first-time book creators and free software to design your book.
What NOT to do
24 hour covers

http://www.fiverr.com/ – outsource options such as writers, editors, illustrators, format conversion… Offerings start at $5 but rise based on job, speed, etc.
https://www.odesk.com/ – a bit higher quality than you might find on Fiverr.
Andy’s Amazon Author Page – If you ever do me the honor of purchasing one of my books, please post a review.
Andy’s Good Reads Page
On Writing: 10th Anniversary Edition: A Memoir of the Craft – Great memoir and lessons on writing from Stephen King. A masters lesson in writing.
The Elements of Style, Fourth Edition – Another small, powerful classic for any writer.
Hiring the Heavens – This is the only item on the page I don’t have personal experience with. This book was recently recommended to me. If you want help in calling on Spirit to assist or guide your writing, you might want to consider this book.
